Guide to Isterinia in Tinos Island, Greece

You will find Tinos the most interesting and entertaining of all the island of Cyclades. Its architecture is greatly influenced by the Venitians, especially the churches which are real proofs built beautifully during that time. It is a perfect destination for you if you are seeking solitude and peace. Here you will not find crowded beaches and mass tourism. Tinos typically follows the old ways of life of islanders. you will also find various magnificent beaches here with breath taking landscape and crystal clear waters. The island has three ports for passenger speed boats, two ferries and high speed boats to carry passengers and the cars to other ports including Piraeus, Rafina, Mykonos, Andros and Syros.
you will find Isterinia at about 13 kilometers towards the North West from the capital town, Tinos. It is a beautiful picturesque village of the region close to Kardiani village. You will find this wonderful natural site built amphitheatrically on the slopes of the Mount Meroviglia. The village will surely take your heart with its incredible marble-paved lanes and narrow alleys. Its two storey houses are worth admiring for they have the hue of the stone and clay along with fine quality marble lintels. Their picturesque arches that show the narrow lanes depict an outstanding view and you would really like to give your bit more time there.
The village overlooks the beautiful bay of Isterinia. Apart from various marble adorned houses the village has great churches in the town square that would capture your attention. it is also the home to many of the marble artists and Greek sculptors with long tradition of carving as Vitalis, Lamera and Sochou. Isterinia also offers great view of the sea which is quite enchanting. It may be the reason for it to be the home to many sailors and the sea captions. you will also find a Museum of Isterinian Artists here revealing the works and biographies of various artists. If you are interested in the work of art just do not miss visiting it.

A bit further towards the north you will find interesting ruined windmills in the village of Mylon. Isterinia displays a magnificent view as it faces the blue sea and Syros Island. The beach of Isterinia in Tinos Island is a great place to visit for its calm and peace. It has fine sand and pebbles with clear waters. You can also go to the two fish taverns and cafe for coffee and snacks to just sit and enjoy at the beach side.
